Café Intermezzo sits in the heart of The Avalon while fueling the lives of shoppers with amazing desserts and coffee. Café Intermezzo began with a return to Germany for owner Brian Olson where he was inspired to bring the essence of the coffeehouse experience to the States. This impressive restaurant has food and beverages for every occasion. With a dessert, brunch, dinner, and late night menu, one can choose from a variety of choices. Their brunch menu provides shoppers with waffles, omelets, french toast, crepes, sandwiches, and salads while their dinner menu provides similar sandwiches and salads along with pasta and small seafood platters. We tasted the Burger Americana and the Grilled Chicken Brioche which were both absolutely amazing. The most impressive aspect of Café Intermezzo is their dessert and coffee. The options are endless with various cheesecakes (we had the oreo and it was delicious), tortes, crepes, ganache, tiramisu, and carrot cake. The specialty coffee was recommended to us based on our taste; however, they provide numerous different styles and types of coffees from french press, espresso, Turkish coffee, coffee cubano, chilled coffee, lattes, and cappuccinos. We tested the Caramel cappuccino and the Cioccoloccino, which was made with pure dutch chocolate. They also offer a variety of other drinks such as cocktails, beer, teas, sodas, and an impressive red and white wine menu. Café Intermezzo is the perfect place for every type of craving.
